THE ROLE INVOLVES:
Our customer's systems play a critical role in everything they do within the clearing and risk management domain.
That is why their application development teams collaborate closely to explore ideas and shape the future direction of their platforms.
Together, you will build and maintain an outstanding suite of reliable, high-performing systems and applications.
As a Senior C++ Engineer within our customer's development team, you will:
Work on large, complex technical initiatives and help define the future direction of the clearing and risk management application landscape.
Serve as a role model within the organization, setting a high standard for technical excellence.
Establish technical vision and direction for major initiatives, building high-quality, architecturally sound systems.
Develop a deep understanding of trading, clearing, risk management, and how the underlying "machine" operates.
Focus on solving problems rather than being tied to specific tools or technologies.
Lead and contribute to the most complex projects by questioning assumptions and collaborating closely with engineers, business partners, and analysts - including hands-on development, testing, and production deployment.
Bring clarity to complexity and demonstrate smart, pragmatic ways to simplify the overall ecosystem.
Work closely with your team to deliver tangible value to business partners, with a strong focus on stakeholder satisfaction.
The scope of these systems is large, and the organization's technology leaders will trust you with one of their most critical assets. Your decisions will have a direct impact on trust within the financial markets and on the flow of millions of euros.
Your work will help ensure regulatory compliance, meet client obligations, and further strengthen their reputation as a trusted clearing partner.
TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:
5+ years of hands-on experience with modern C++.
Strong experience with version control platforms such as GitLab.
Proficiency working in Linux environments.
Solid knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL).
Experience with Kafka or other messaging / queuing mechanisms.
Experience with Redis.
Familiarity with automation and deployment tools such as Jenkins.
Experience building and operating distributed systems.
Automation and scripting with Bash or Python.
Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
NICE TO HAVE:
Quantitative or financial engineering knowledge.
Awareness of key DevOps concepts and Agile principles.
Proven track record of delivering large technical or migration projects.
Ability to stay current with software engineering, cloud technologies, and industry trends.
Background or understanding of financial services, clearing, and risk management.
Relevant university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
SOFT SKILLS:
Fluent English, with good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to clearly express your thoughts and present work e.g. during sprint review.
Solid experience with IT development in an agile environment, where you get things done through building relationships and convincing people.
Keen to explore ideas and problems through coding in close collaboration with others.
Innovative, big-picture thinking grounded in real-world pragmatism.
